What’s On in Perth: Lotterywest Festival Films at Somerville
Late November is my favourite time of year because the build-up to the Perth International Arts Festival begins with the opening of the Lotterywest Film Festival at Somerville auditorium in UWA. Outdoor cinema is one of the great things that Perth has to offer but this venue tops the rest, large pines give it an especially ethereal quality that’s hard to beat. Bring a picnic to share on the lawns beforehand.

What’s on in Perth: WA Ballet Presents Cinderella
The classic fairy-tale has been reimagined and choreographed by one of WA Ballet’s own principal dancers, Jane Smeulders. WA Ballet have been steadily improving their repertoire over the past couple of years in an effort to appeal to a wider range of audiences and the differences are noticeable, you don’t have to be a ballet connoisseur to enjoy a night at the ballet. The stunning venue and beautiful accompaniment from The West Australian Philharmonic Orchestra are pleasant additions to a spectacular show.

Where: His Majesty’s Theatre
